What is implant grade?

– Implant grade metals are safe for long term wear under the skin (in your piercings)  these metals wont corrode or release harmful chemicals into the body, both of these things could cause irritation and infection or even rejection with some piercings the most common are ASTM- F 136 Titanium, ASTM- F 138 Steel, 14 or 18 carat solid gold or niobium

Why do you keep saying mirror polish?

– Mirror polished jewellery has a bright shine and a smoother surface finish that is free from nicks or scratches, this is important because it prevents any build up and keeps your jewellery clean and your piercing healthy.

Why is nickel free jewellery important?

– Most jewellery allergy is caused by the metal nickel Because nickle is a known sensitizer (meaning people become more sensitive through contact) nickel alergies commonly cause contact allergic dermatitis. but can cause a piercing to swell and increases chances of infection in some cases.

Why don’t you recommend gold plated jewellery

– Often gold plating is worn away from contact with the body often leaving a metal high in nickle content. When the plating or overlay wears, even microscopically, an allergic reaction to the nickel in the base metal can occur this could cause many problems for your piercing.

Why would nickel be in body jewellery

– Nickel is in a majority of metal items we use because it is inexpensive and adds durability as well as luster to other metals. keep in mind that the company making your jewellery might not have your best interest in mind and that most countries do not have up-to-date laws regulating what can and cannot be sold as body jewellery

Why shouldn’t I buy jewellery online?

Can I swim with a fresh or healing piercing?

– Swimming with a fresh piercing is extremely risky regardless of what kind of water your swimming in, if your fresh piercing is submerged in water it can over hydrate and allow harmful chemicals or bacteria in: increasing your chances of infection greatly

My friend or family member told me to twist and move my jewellery when cleaning.

– Please don’t twist or move your jewellery this can allow bacteria into the piercing site and create excess scar tissue – slowing down your healing experience and taking longer for you to swap out to that new piece you have been eyeing off
